2009 Travels

We started 2009 in Rockport TX. and made this years loop in a counter-clockwise direction... along the Gulf Coast to Florida, where Dar attended a nursing conference, then north to the Carolinas and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. In the Midwest for much of the Summer, we attended the EAA convention in Oshkosh and made a side trip to the UP of Michigan. The Fall trip westward included parts of US-20 and the old Oregon Trail before arriving in the Portland area for our month long visit with our West Coast Family. In October we headed south through the Great Basin, into Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico where we explored no less than 6 National Parks before making it to Texas. Our Winter home once again was in Rockport.

Our 2008 Travels started in Rockport, TX. We headed west through West Texas and Big Bend National Park, into New Mexico and Arizona, where we attended a rally and visited with family we hadn't seen in a long time. After some boondocking in the desert near Quartzsite, we hit California where we attended another rally. Then northward into Oregon to visit our West Coast Family and to be there for the birth of our second Grandson. We followed the Lewis & Clark Trail back to the Midwest for the summer. When it came time to head south for the Winter, we went through Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas before arriving back in Texas for the Winter.;

As new fulltime RV'ers as of July 1st, we made a "shake-down" loop around Lake Michigan with the new camper so we could be close to the manufacturers in the event of trouble. As Fall came, we started South into Kentucky and Tennessee before a longer camp with some friends in the Carolinas. From there we went through Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana, staying in some very nice State Parks along the way. Crossing into Texas in early December, we eventually found a friendly spot to spend the holidays in Rockport, TX.

Our 2010 travels started, once again, in Rockport, TX. Our plan is to head north to the panhandle of Texas, through Oklahoma and a portion of Kansas before arriving in the Midwest in early May.
